Product Description The Vosges Haut-Chocolat mission is to create a luxury chocolate experience rooted in a sensory journey of bringing about awareness to indigenous cultures through the exploration of spices, herbs, roots, flowers, fruits, nuts, chocolate and the obscure. To ensure this, Owner/Chocolatier, Katrina Markoff, personally chooses every spice, flower and chocolate that is flown into their Chicago kitchen. The newest flavor from Vosges, the inimitable Mo's Chocolate and Bacon Candy Bar, combines smoky bacon and sweet milk chocolate. Vosges creator Katrina explains the origins of this unique combination: "Crisp, buttery, compulsively irresistible bacon and milk chocolate combination has long been a favorite of mine. I started playing with this combination at the tender age of six while eating chocolate chip pancakes drenched in maple syrup. Beside my chocolate-laden cakes laid three strips of fried bacon, just barely touching a sweet pool of maple syrup. Just a bite of the bacon was too salty and yearned for the sweet kiss of chocolate syrup. In retrospect, perhaps this was a turning point, for on that plate something magical happened: the beginnings of a combination so ethereal and delicious that it would haunt my thoughts until I found the medium to express it--chocolate."Ingredients:Applewood smoked bacon, Alder smoked salt, and deep milk chocolate. Gluten free.41% cacao.

| Customer Reviews: Shockingly Delicious Bacon & Chocolate December 19, 2009 Gregory B. Zobel (Left Coast) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This bar is best experienced with other people--just in case you or they do not like it. As a couple of reviewers indicated, they thought the taste was off. When I heard about it, I thought it sounded disgusting. However, when I tried it, it was delicious, delightful, and stunningly good.
If you're expecting standard chocolate flavors, I don't think this is the bar for you. However, if you like odd combinations, enjoy fatty or greasy or salty food (like fries & chips), and enjoy new experiences, this bar is worth it. Sure, the price is a bit high, but the quality is top notch.
If you buy the bar, or if you like it, I suggest you bring it to a group gathering where you can share it. You may well convert other people who enjoy it, and those who don't enjoy it won't spend their money on it.
This is probably one of the best bar's I've ever had, and I love to share it with others!
So good!! June 25, 2010 glagar Such a great combination of sweet and salty!! Loved the addition of the salt and the bacon.
too much of a good thing... November 2, 2009 M. Y. Miller (Shell Beach, CA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
When I saw this bar I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. They added bacon and alderwood smoked salt. For me, one or the other would have been great, but together was just too much for my taste. The $8.99 price tag made it even harder to swallow.
Sounds better than it actually taste. October 28, 2009 dia604 (Vancouver, Canada) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Product was a disapointment, so glad I purchased a bar at Whole Foods before ordering online. The chocolate itself is a milk chocolate (smooth and creamy after taste) however with the bacon bits... not so good. This chocolate did not cure either one of my chocolate not bacon cravings...
Bacon is overwhelming March 9, 2010 C. Tucker (MD) Rather than chocolate with a hint of bacon, this bar tastes like bacon with a hint of chocolate. It may satisfy rabid bacon addicts, but the flavor of the bacon with the chocolate just doesn't work. You can taste the greasiness of the bacon through the chocolate, and it's not good. Rather than an aftertaste of chocolate, you get an aftertaste of bacon with chocolate overtones.
